Now I have a little piece of the internet I'd like to dedicate this page to naming and shaming those scallywags out there that have somehow lied to or cheated me on my foodie quest. Especially the ones with little internet exposure such as tripadvisor.
First on my list is a stall known as Mr. Olives (http://mrolive.co.uk) or facebook http://www.facebook.com/pages/Mr-Olives/158237694286678 and can be seen frequenting the farmers markets and food festivals around Essex.
I had the misfortune of meeting this 'friendly' chap at the Essex Food and Drink Festival 2014 at Cressing Temple. When asking for a small portion of olives and garlic I noticed him being very coy about me seeing the container. Long story short, I was charged over £17 for 2 small tubs of olives, garlic and sundried tomatoes. £17! I could of course refused to pay but with a crowd gathered etc... I stumped up the cash. Don't get me wrong, the produce is very nice but the price of it is astonishing and the service appauling.
Poor show Mr. Olives. You're now on my wall of shame.
